Rift in Swabi PTI over public meeting venue
SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan will address a public meeting in Swabi on May 16.
However, sources said that differences had surfaced in the party over venue of the public meeting and a decision in this regard would be made soon.
Sources in PTI told this correspondent here on Friday that former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser wanted Imran’s public meeting to be held at Shahmansoor Township, while provincial minister Shahram Khan Tarakai was interested in the Gohati Cricket Ground venue.
Shahmnsoor Township is situated in the constituency from where Mr Qaiser had won in 2018 elections and Gohati Cricket Ground is located in the constituency from where Usman Khan Tarakai, Shahram’s uncle, had emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, PML-N leaders said on Friday that party vice-president Maryam Nawaz would visit the district on May 11.
Party’s divisional vice-president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan told this correspondent that Maryam was scheduled to address a public meeting in Tordher, Chota Lahor tehsil, and arrangements in this regard were being made.
