RAWALPINDI: About 1,200 passengers from five international flights that landed at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) within an hour were seen shouting slogans at each other, misbehaving with the staff of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and pushing one another away as they attempted to get clearance from the immigration counter on Friday.
According to sources, people were making videos of the episode with their mobile phones while some just watched what was going on.
It all started when five international flights, SV724 from Riyadh, PK9714 from Madina, Emirates Airlines EK612 from Dubai, PK288 from Doha and Qatar Airways QR614 from Doha landed at the IIA within an hour.
Only four to five immigration counters were operational at that time, which caused the mess. The passengers started pushing one another away as they tried to reach the counters, quarreling with one another and misbehaving with the immigration staff.
Later, the immigration staff promptly acted and completed the immigration process.
Meanwhile, 43 illegal Pakistani immigrants deported by Malaysian authorities arrived at the airport via a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Kuala Lumpur.
After brief checking and the immigration process, the deportees were shifted to FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for further legal process.
