DADU: Sindh United Party Chairman Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah has said the country is caught in a vortex of constitutional and democratic crisis and it will continue to happen until horse-trading and corruption comes to an end in parliament.

Shah said at the 27th death anniversary programme of GM Syed at his residence near Indus river in Sann town on Monday that no elected government was allowed to complete its tenure.

He said the philosophy and message of GM Syed was salvation for people of Sindh and his struggle continued till this day. He appealed to people to spread the message of GM Syed to every nook and cranny of Sindh.

The party’s central president Syed Zain Shah said that infrastructure in the province had been in ruins thanks to massive corruption by Pakistan Peoples Party for the past 15 years.

He said that there were many villages even in this age where women had to cover long distances on foot, in most cases over 10 kilometers daily, to fetch drinking water for their families.

He hit out at agreement between Muttahida Qaumi Movement, PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and termed it anti-Sindh. If anyone talked about division of Sindh it would be tantamount to talking against Pakistan, he said.

Later, Jalal Shah and Zain Shah led a candle-bearing rally and offered fateha at the grave of GM Syed.

Meanwhile, Jeay Sindh Mahaz-Riaz held a training workshop for activists on the occasion for the first time in which scholars and politicians, including Jami Chandio, Hafeez Qureshi, advocate Jahangir, Juman Darbadar, Dr Khushal, Zulfiqar Halepoto and Zulfiqar Qadri spoke on nationalist politics in Sindh and democracy in the country.

Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Bashir, Jeay Sindh Qaum Parast Party, Jeay Sindh Mahaz-Sarwar Sahito, JSQM-Arisar, Jeay Sindh Tehreek-Shafi Karnani also organised separate programmes.
