LAHORE: Robbers deprived several citizens of their belongings and cash in different areas of the provincial capital here on Saturday.
According to police, unidentified thieves sneaked into the house of one Nawab Din in Shalimar area, broke the locks and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth over Rs700,000.
In Batapur area, two armed men entered the medical store of one Mohammad Anis, held up him and his employees at gunpoint and made off with cash and mobile phones worth Rs60,000. Armed robbers intercepted one Sajid in Gulshan-e-Ravi and escaped after snatching his mobile phone and Rs15,000 cash.
In Shahdara area, armed men snatched from Manazar Hussain Rs200,000, his mobile phone and fled away.
In the same police precincts, robbers deprived Amanat Ali of Rs40,000 and his mobile phone, while in Raiwind City area armed men snatched Rs69,000 from one Amjad.
Mohammad Azim was held up in Kahna area by armed robbers when he was going to market. The robber escaped after depriving him of Rs100,000.
Robbers and thieves also took away cars and motorbikes from Township, Ghalib Market, Kahna, Kot Lakhpat, Liaqat Abad, Gujarpura, Factory Area, South Cantt, Iqbal Town, Shadbagh, Rang Mahal, Islampura and Hanjarwal areas.
