LAHORE: The Pakistan Railways (PR) police on Friday foiled a bid to transport non-custom paid goods worth millions in a train by seizing them at Lahore railway station.

The goods were booked from Quetta for Lahore in Jafar Express, according to Railways Police Inspector General Faisal Shahkar.

In a press release, the IG said PR police (Lahore division) seized 69 cartons of non-custom paid goods at Platform No 4 of the railway station.

“As per the SHO, on a tip-off he raided the platform along his team. Among the items seized by police were injurious betel nut, imported chewable tobacco (naswar), imported cigarettes, chocolates, biscuits and aphrodisiacs,” he explained.
