SARGODHA, Dec 2: A milkman slit open the throat of his wife and then committed suicide at the Khizarabad Livestock Farm, about 45 kilometres from here, on Friday. Reports said Muhammad Khan, a milkman, slit open the throat of his wife Ruqqaya Bibi and then killed himself in a similar manner.

The Jhal Chakian police have registered a case and are trying to ascertain the motive.

Meanwhile, 10-year-old Muhammad Bakhsh was buried alive when a wall of his house collapsed in Bhera, some 55 kilometres from here.

In another incident in Bhera on Thursday night, Shahzad, 12, was shot dead and his father Ahmad Khan injured by unknown assailants at Ghanola village.

CM’S VISIT: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has postponed his visit to Sargodha city. He will, however, address a public meeting in Bhalwal on Saturday (today).

The chief minister’s visit is meant to lend support to Haroon Ehsan Piracha for the NA-64 seat, which was vacated by his uncle Muhammad Inam Piracha who has been elected district nazim.

PTCL: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, Faisalabad Region, General Manager Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar on Friday directed his subordinates to ensure prompt service to the customers.

During his visit to the district, he was briefed on the working of the company’s local offices.
