Four criminals killed in ‘encounter’

FAISALABAD, Dec 2: Four alleged criminals involved in kidnap for ransom, robberies and other heinous crime were reportedly killed in a shoot out here on Friday morning. District Police Officer Amin Wains told journalists that Saddar police station SHO received a massage from Rescue 15 that one Atique Ahmad was deprived of his car (LRS-4242) by four men riding in a black Honda having blue revolving light near Muqawana.

The DPO said on receiving this information, a Saddar police team chased the bandit and intercepted them near Chak 209 RB. In the meanwhile, police parties headed by Saddar Circle ASP, DSP (investigation), DSP (headquarters) rushed to the spot. The outlaws opened fire on police which returned the compliment and a crossfire continued for about 30 minute as a result of which the outlaws were killed.

He said police recovered two Kalashnikovs, three rifles, one repeater and a pistol along with 200 bullets from the scene. The police also recovered the snatched vehicle and black Honda.

DPO Wains named the carjackers as Qasim alias Qaso, Shahid alias Lawar, Naseer alias Sharoan and an unidentified man.

He said Shahid was also involved in the kidnap of five-year-old Shahian Mubashir and released him after receiving Rs5 million ransom. He was also involved over a dozen robberies, murders and kidnaps.

Naseer and Qasim were involved in over 50 robberies and other crimes, he added.

The DPO expected arrests of some criminals as police got papers from the possession of these criminals.
