BAHAWALNAGAR, Dec 1: A wide breach occurred at Jalwah near Choghata Arain inundating over hundreds of acres of standing crops. Villagers alleged that the breach occurred owing to the negligence and indifference of canal staff.
They said a minor breach had occurred in the canal which was reported to the authorities, but they did not pay attention to it. Almost two to three feet water is flowing in crops.
People have urged the Punjab chief minister to pay them compensation and take action against the officials concerned.
