KARACHI: Over 1,300 civil officials have been prematurely retired from service until Martial Law Regulation No. 114. Announcing the names of the officials concerned, Mr Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Minister for Political Affairs, said last night [March 12] in a nationwide broadcast that these government servants would prematurely retire from service with effect from March 13 and their next senior will assume the responsibility. Mr Jatoi said as for the subordinate civil services, the Governors of the four Provinces have been asked to take action, where necessary… . Today’s announced list included 13 CSP Officers, 5 Pakistan Foreign Service, 6 PSP Officers, 69 Ministry of Finance, Customs Department, and 56 Income Tax Department … 50 Ministry of Communication, 5 Post Office Department, 10 West Pakistan Railway … 74 WAPDA … besides a number of Civil servants of the four provinces among the retired. — News Agencies
