KARACHI: Sale of kites prohibited

KARACHI, Nov 30: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has restrained and prohibited the manufacturers and sellers of kites, kite flying strings, including the Sharp Maanjha, metallic wire and nylon cord from indulging in this trade either through manufacturing or selling within the limits of Karachi under Section 144 of the CrPC.

The order comes into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for a period of seven days, provided extended/ withdrawn/ modified earlier.

The order follows the suo motu notice taken by the Supreme Court on the loss of lives of innocent children due to kite flying.

The nazim observed that such activities of the individuals/ firms created serious threat to the safety of human life and public property. —APP
