Tajikistan crush Pakistan

DUSHANBE (Tajikistan), Nov 25: Pakistan ended their tour on a dismal note after a 8-0 thrashing by Tajikistan in the AFC Youth soccer qualifiers at Republic Stadium on Friday.

After their second successive defeat, Pakistan completed a pathetic performance in the three-nation Group ‘E’ qualifiers. Pakistan lost 3-0 to Uzbekistan in the opening match on Wednesday.

Tajikistan drew first blood in the 18th minute through Barotov Rahmonali.

Saidov Kamil capitalised on a faulty clearance of Mohammad Ahmad and swiftly rolled the ball in the 41st minute, while Tajik captain Ismoilov Jamshed converted a penalty kick to make it 3-0 at breather.

Tajiks slammed home their fourth in the 48th minute through Ravshanov Askarjon past Pakistan goalkeeper Tariq Mahmood.

Pakistan suffered yet another shock five minutes later when Rabimov Ibraguim scored off a penalty in the 52nd minute and Savankulov Sohib netted the sixth in the 70th minute.

Rustamov Hasan scored the seventh in the 74th minute, while Sabourov Akmal completed the rout with 81st-minute strike.—APP
