KOHAT, Nov 24: District Nazim Seth Gohar has asked the Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) to release its pledged amount for the development of Shakardarra as early as possible. According to a handout, he visited Shakardarra union council with government officials, nazims and representatives of the OGDC on Thursday.

He inspected the newly constructed hospital and asked the OGDC to meet the promises made to the local people after the discovery of huge reservoires of oil and gas.

The nazim assured the residents of Shakardarra that the government would resolve their problems.

Speaking at public gatherings, he said the Rehmanabad road would be constructed with a cost of Rs30 million and the problem of potable water be solved soon.

He informed the people that the damaged building of the high school would be repaired with an estimated cost of Rs6 million whereas the government had allocated Rs1 million for the electrification of some rural areas.
