BAJAUR: A resident of Mamond tehsil of Bajaur tribal district on Tuesday appealed to the authorities to help recover his brother, who had allegedly been abducted by unknown persons from Karachi four years ago.

Talking to reporters here, Najeebullah Khan said his elder brother, Idress Khan, was abducted by unknown persons from his workplace in July 2017.

He said his brother worked as a labourer in Karachi to feed his family, but his abduction had caused misery to his dependants.

Nr Najeebullah said his brother had no personal enmity with anyone.

He appealed to both the federal and provincial government of Sindh to help the family trace his brother. He also urged the superior courts to order the relevant authorities to trace whereabouts of his brother.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT SURVEY: The local authorities have launched a survey to assess the damage caused to houses during the recent spell of rain and snow in Bajaur tribal district.

Officials of the district administration said on Tuesday the survey was initiated on the directives of deputy commissioner Iftikhar Alam.

They said survey teams started their work on Tuesday, visiting the affected areas to inspect the damaged houses and other infrastructure.

According to officials, local elders and newly-elected local body councillors also accompanied the survey teams to help them identify the damaged houses. They said the survey teams were tasked with collecting data on the damaged houses and the household things destroyed.

The officials said after the conclusion of survey, financial assistance would be extended to the affected people.
