Three suffer burns in house fire

MUZAFFARGARH: Three people suffered burns on Monday when a fire erupted in the kitchen of a house at Qasba Gujrat.

The family said the fire erupted due to the carelessness of a child.

The injured were identified as Awais,12, Sehra Bibi, 35, and Shaukat, 40.

Rescue 1122 said the victims were shifted to a nearby hospital Qasba Gujrat while Awais whose condition was critical was shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

RECOVERED: The police recovered one-year-old Zubair on Monday who was kidnapped six months ago.

Karam Dad Qureshi Station House Officer Ammar Yasir said they had handed over the child to his parents. On July 30, 2021, Muhammad Hussain informed the police that his grandson Muhammad Zubair was missing. A kidnap case was registered against unidentified people.

The police raided places in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Layyah and Multan districts and arrested Mushtaq, the kidnapper. Mother Saima Bibi was delighted at the reunion with her son. She thanked the police for the recovery of her son.

Probe: Multan Deputy Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan on Monday launched an inquiry into the toxic gas leakage incident at a factory in which a Chinese man had died and about a dozen others had become unconscious.

An investigation committee, consisting Additional Commissioner Qamaruz Zaman Qaisarani, SP Cantt Hassan Afzal, Boiler Inspector Rana Muhammad Saleem and Civil Defense Officer Rana Tariq Waheed, would investigate the incident. The DC said the committee would visit the factory and submit its report within a week.

The Chinese man, identified as Zong Chung, was killed by poisonous gas in the chemical factory in the Industrial Estate on Saturday while his expatriate and 11 local workers who had fainted were hospitalised at the Nishtar Hospital.
