Pakistan reports more than 1,000 new cases for first time in nearly 3 months

Pakistan has detected 1,085 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the first time in nearly three months that daily infections have exceeded 1,000.

The country had reported 1,086 cases on October 14, 2021.

The positivity rate has also risen over two per cent.

The countrywide breakdown is as follows:

  • Sindh: 578 cases, 1 death
  • Punjab: 360 cases
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 36 cases, 3 deaths
  • Balochistan: 1 case, 1 death
  • Islamabad: 104 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 6 cases

Gilgit-Baltistan did not confirm any new infections.
