RAWALPINDI: Balloting for provision of agricultural tools on 60pc subsidy was held under agricultural engineering field operation wing, Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

Agricultural Engineer Field Wing Rawalpindi Division Ijaz Ahmad Randawa, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Rawalpindi Sadia Bano and Assistant Agricultural Engineer Well Drilling Adnan Ansar were the members of the balloting committee.

Addressing on the occasion, Assistant Agricultural Engineer Field Operation Rawalpindi Rana Mohammad Asif Khan said that 205 farmers from Rawalpindi District had applied for tools on subsidy, among which 176 were found eligible for balloting process.

He said that Rawalpindi District has been divided into 15 markaz. “Subsidy is being provided to three farmers in each markaz,” he said adding that subsidy was being given on 54 agricultural tools, among which 45 are operated through tractor and nine are being operated independently.

In these agricultural implements wheat reaper, seed grader, disc harrow, chiesel plow, rota water, etc, are included.

A large number of farmers were also present on the occasion and they appreciated the step of the Punjab government for providing agricultural tools on subsidy.
