TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 22: The district development committee approved on Tuesday six health department development schemes for rural areas of the district.
The committee meeting with DCO Faqeer Syed Anwaaruddin in chair was told that Rs 2.1 million would be spent from the Chief Minister’s health sector reforms programme on the rural health centres of 394-JB, 316-GB, Pirmahal, 740-GB, Nawan Lahore and Rajana.
The meeting also approved seven drainage schemes worth Rs 4.5 million which were forwarded to the committee by the Toba TMA.
It also decided to set up an agriculture biological laboratory at district headquarters at a cost of Rs2.1 million.
BOOKED: Kamalia city police registered a case on Tuesday on the order of additional district and sessions judge against its SHO and other policemen on the charge of unlawfully arresting and torturing two brothers.
According to police report, SHO Khadim Hussain, SI Muhammad Akram andthree constables raided the house of Anwar and arrestedhis two brothers Ashraf and Sultan.
A court bailiff recovered them from illegal confinement and produced them before the court.
