OKARA, Nov 22: The local police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested two highwaymen after an encounter in the jurisdiction of the Pattoki police station, Kasur district.

Six armed men intercepted a car near 6/1-AL on the GT Road and deprived its occupants, Tariq and Nasir, of cash and valuables.

On information, the Renala Khurd Sadar police started chasing the bandits and encircled them in a garden near Batian village in the area of the Pattoki police.

The outlaws opened fire on the police which was retaliated. Following an hour-long shootout, the police arrested two members of the Kali Odde gang.
