PML-N to field candidates for village councils in Dir’s Khall area

LOWER DIR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Khall chapter, on Sunday announced to field its candidates in all the village councils for the second phase of local government elections after consultation with the party workers.

A meeting in this regard was held in Khall with PML-N divisional president Malik Jehan Zeb in the chair. The party workers from different areas attended the meeting which was also addressed by Malik Usman, Gul Shahzada, Azhar Taqveem and others.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ideological workers in Dir on Sunday announced to field independent candidates in all the seven tehsils of the district if tickets were not allotted on merit.

The announcement was made during a meeting held in Timergara.

PTI ideological members and former candidates for provincial assembly seats Malik Inam Khan and Ali Shah Mishwani, PTI overseas’ president Abdul Qayyum and others were in attendance.

They welcomed the nomination of Pervez Khattak as PTI provincial president and hoped the party would award tickets to its sincere and ideological workers.

Prize distribution ceremony: Prominent Pashto poet and writer Prof Abaseen Yousafzai has asked the students to acquire science and technology education to face the modern day challenges.

He was addressing an annual prize distribution function held at a private college in Kumbar Maidan as chief guest here the other day.

The function was also addressed by coordinator of Timergara campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Prof Minhajuddin, principal of the college Shahid Khan and others.

Mr Yousafzai, who is chairman of Pashto Department, Islamia College University Peshawar, said that education in mother tongue was essential for national development. He said that majority of the nations in the world provided education in their mother tongue.

He said that education encouraged service to humanity as its sole purpose. He asked the parents and teachers to focus on the future and character building of their children so they could play their due role in national development.

The guests also distributed prizes and shields among the position-holder students of the college.
