Islamabad reports 34 new Omicron cases

Islamabad has reported 34 new cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant over the past 24 hours, according to a statement issued by Dr Zaeem Zia, the capital's district health officer (DHO).

The statement said the Omicron tally in the capital now stands at 66.

It further stated that there were chances of Omicron spreading further in Islamabad, keeping in view the strain's rapid transmission globally.
