KARACHI, Nov 22: Eleven ships carrying raw sugar, DAP fertilizer, jute and vehicles are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships - Maersk Alaska, Global Prosperity, APL Cairo, Thor Captain, Yang Jiang He, to unload and load containers, and Zuljalal, to load rice - were berthed after the departure of two.

The ships, which departed included Kota Jasa and Wilma, while Lian Shan, Rickmers Mumbai, PONL Buenos Aires, Gulf Pride, Berana, Lake Ranger and Xin Qiang are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side owing to larger calling of foreign-flag vessels totalling 0.120m tons comprising 35,209 tons of export cargo, including 6,320 tons of rice and 84,801 tons of import tonnage, was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Maria N.M, with 39,500 tons of raw sugar, Tanate, with 9,500 tons of jute, Marine Blue, with 50 vehicles, Gant Vision, with 31,500 tons of DAP fertilizer, Xanadu, with 37,250 tons of cola, Farah-3, with 6,500 tons of steel, Johar, with crude oil, Kuo Hung, Hyundai Sprinter, Kota Teraju and Kota Wangsa, with containers.
