CHITTAGONG, Nov 22: The average price of Bangladesh teas rose 4.24 per cent to 83.34 taka ($1.26) per kg on higher demand at a weekly auction on Tuesday.

“Nearly 1.68 million kg were sold at average price of 83.34 taka per kg, up 3.39 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was 1.34, the lowest of the current season,” said an auctioneer.

Different grades were sold between 70 taka and 118 taka per kg.

The next weekly auction will be held on November 29 with an expected offering of nearly 1.67 million kg.—Reuters
