KARACHI, Jan 25: Chairman Sindh National Front, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, has said the new rules and regulations framed for the coming elections are positive, but they require further changes.

Talking to visitors at his native village, Mirpur Bhutto, on Friday, he suggested that the right of vote should be given to all citizens who have attained the age of 18 years or more. Secondly, all political leaders who deserted their parties and took sides with those in power should be expelled from politics.

Acording to a press release, he said that unless selfish, and hypocrite politicians were thrown out of politics, the country would not benefit in any way.

Mumtaz Bhutto said that making laws was one thing and enforcing them was another. Electoral laws for the election of Nazims were good but these were not acted upon.

Hence, inefficient people got elected and became the main reason for the failure of the district government system.

He said that the present government had promised that every department of the government would be purged of social evils, but the situaation had not changed and the people were still suffering under the yoke of bureaucratic cruelties. — PPI
