ADB survey for water project

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 17: A six-member team of the Asian Development Bank held a meeting with the district administration and visited the Naushahro Feroze town to conduct a survey for a water supply scheme The team, headed by urban development, water and waste water specialist Rogers Jackson and including members civil engineer Khalid, engineer Ghulam Rabbani, Ms Tasneem Bhatti and economist Rafique, met the district nazim, DCO and other officials and discussed water supply, sewerage and sanitation facilities of the town.

Later, the team members visited the town along with Naushahro Feroze Taluka Nazim Munir Mubejo.

The team also held a meeting with area people and journalists at the taluka council hall.

A member of the team told the meeting that they were there to conduct a survey for a water supply scheme. He hoped that the project would be implemented in three to four years with financial assistance of the ADB.

Mr Rafique said that in six towns of Sindh such schemes would be completed at a cost of $50 million to be provided by the ADB.

Mr Rabbani said that under the ADP project, trolleys would be provided for disposal of garbage.

Mr Jackson said the report would be ready by March 2006.
