LARKANA, Nov 17: The Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit bench, on Thursday hearing a petition of Ms Yasmin, daughter of Hassan Khoso, ordered registration of an FIR against 36 policemen, including a town police officer.
Advocate Ayaz Soomro represented the petitioner.
Qambar-Shahdadkot DPO Zulfikar Pathan did not appear in the court and sent police inspector Bachal Shaikh to represent him.
The police official, on behalf of the DPO, submitted a written statement in the court.
He said that the petitioner had not appeared before him for registering FIR.
He said that had she approached him the matter would have been proceeded in accordance with law.
The petitioner said that 40 to 50 police personnel had come in eight mobiles and entered her house on November 3.
They were searching for her brother Dilijan Magsi, ASI, following the murder of Latif Chandio, the bodyguard of Qambar taluka nazim on November 2.
They arrested Yasmin Khoso, Rani Magsi, Shama Magsi and Tarique Magsi, she said.
She said the policemen looted household articles and cash.
The petition came for hearing on Thursday where Justice Maqbool Baqar ordered the DPO for registering FIR of the petitioner, the petitioner’s advocate.
The petitioner and six policemen appeared in the court.
URS: Hundreds of disciples of Fakir Mian Mohammed Saleh Qadri assembled in Larkana on Thursday to mark the opening of his Urs.
The mystic poet was a contemporary of Sachal Sarmast.
Sajjada Nasheen Prof Iftikhar Qadri, Manzoor Kohiyar, Dr Saghar Abro and Akhtar Janveri read their research papers.
Sachal Sarmast and Mian Qadri received spiritual education from Mian Abdul Haq Darazi.
Later, Mian Qadri was directed to travel to Larkana to preach the message of Sufism.
The locality where the Qadri family settled in the city, is called ‘Garhi Qadri’.
Later, the family produced three renowned poets — Mian Mohammed Saleh, Mian Ghulam Sarwar Qadri and Mian Ali Mohammed Qadri — whose poetry books had been printed around 100 years back.
A reprint of two books was also launched on the occasion of Urs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sindh’s auditor-general Zulfikar Qadri said that soon reprints of poetic collections of Sufi poets would be launched in Karachi.
