Aamer leads Shalimar’s revival

LAHORE, Nov 16: Resolute batting by Aamer Sajjad and Sohail Ahmed helped Lahore Shalimar to bounce back against Faisalabad in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday. Lahore Shalimar gave a vastly improved performance to get back into the match.

First they bowled out Faisalabad in the first innings for a modest 161 after to restrict the lead to 81. By close of play, Lahore Shalimar were 155-4 in the second innings to lead by 70 runs with six wickets intact.

Aamer, who led the fight back, scored 52 with five fours off 164 balls while Sohail was at the crease with 47 off 153 balls. Both Aamer and Sohail added 83 runs for the fourth-wicket.

Earlier, Khalil mopped up the tail finishing with 3-19 to help Lahore hit back in the match. Wicketkeeper Humayun Farhat held five catches.
