HYDERABAD, Nov 16: The executive engineer of the Akram Wah, Faiz Mohammad Memon, has announced a water rotation programme due to reduced water level.

According to the schedule, the Bulri distributary, RD-32 and Khiryari and Shorki minors will remain closed from Nov 18 to 26 and direct outlets of the Gaja branch and Dhandi, Kumb, Hassan Ali and Dhatt minors of the Gaja sub-division will remain closed from Nov 26 to Dec 4.

Similarly, the Bahadur Wah system, Hamira minor and the Hadachar minor will remain closed from Nov 18 to 26 and the Shadi Wah large system distributary, X-regulator RD-45, Shahdi Wah small and Dubni and C-point minors of the Shadi sub-division will remain closed from Nov 26 to Dec 4.

The Kazia branch close at Guraho-X regulator and I/C Seeda and Warnai minors of the Kazia sub-division will remain closed from Nov 18 to 26 and Kamaro and Guraho minors will remain closed from Nov 26 to Dec 4. Branches of the Kadhan sub-division, including Sunni Guni D/S at RD 23, will remain closed from Nov 18 to 26 and the Ali Wah large system and Wangi, Karo Ali Bahar, Ghar and Mithan minors will remain closed from Nov 26 to Dec 4.

Only 5,905 cusecs of water is available at Kotri Barrage upstream and the flow of water downstream is zero. The in-charge of the control centre at the Kotri Barrage told Dawn at 6pm on Wednesday that 3,412 cusecs of water was released downstream Sukkur Barrage today.
