KARACHI: Rear Admi­ral Javaid Iqbal assumed command as Commander Coast (Comcoast) during a change-of-command ceremony held at Karachi on Monday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Vice Admiral Zahid Ilyas handed over the command to the newly appointed Comcoast.

Upon assumption of the command, Rear Admiral Iqbal is now commander of all coastal units of the Pakistan Navy.
