PESHAWAR, Nov 13: The NWFP government has handed over responsibilities to the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees to oversee camps set up for survivors of the Oct 8 earthquake in the NWFP.
The step has been taken on the basis of a decision of the provincial cabinet at a meeting held with Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani in the chair. It was decided that the CAR staff would run the camps set up for the affected people in the Hazara region, said a press release.
The press release said that Chief Secretary Ijaz Ahmad Qureshi and CAR Commissioner Sahibzada Mohammad Anis visited camps in Abbottabad, Mansehra and Havelian to finalize arrangements and posting of staff.—Bureau
