Pakistan reports less than 1,000 cases for second straight day
Pakistan has reported less than 1,000 coronavirus cases for a second day in a row. During the last 24 hours, the country recorded 720 Covid cases, while a day earlier 893 cases were reported.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 44,831 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of cases has risen to 1,264,384 and the death toll is 28,269.
The positivity rate was recorded as 1.60 per cent.
Breakdown of cases and deaths reported on Oct 16:
- Sindh: 311 cases, 4 deaths
- Punjab: 221 cases, 9 deaths
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 124 cases, 4 deaths
- Islamabad: 43 cases
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 12 cases
- Balochistan: 6 cases
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 3 cases
