Alyani asked to convene parliamentary party meeting

QUETTA: Chief organiser of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali has asked Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani to convene a meeting of the parliamentary party to find a solution to the prevailing crisis which has divided the ruling party.

Speaking at a press conference at his residence along with provincial minister Mir Tariq Hussain Mangi here on Tuesday, Mr Jamali said he was not part of any group and as an impartial chief organiser of the party, he had concern over the situation which was worsening with the passage of time.

“I do believe that by sitting together in the parliamentary party meeting, the differences between both groups will be removed,” he said, adding that he was going to have a meeting with Chief Minister Alyani.

He said the BAP had 24 legislators in the 65-member house and both the angry group and CM Alyani enjoyed the support of an equal number with no majority.

Mr Jamali said the angry group had filed a no-trust motion in the Balochistan Assembly against the leader of the house, which deepened the political crisis in the province. “The parliamentary party meeting is the only place where a solution could be found through mutual consultation and talks.”
