The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday declared complete Covid-19 vaccination mandatory for ulema and naat-reciters taking part in Milad gatherings and Seerat conferences.

The forum emphasised compliance of the coronavirus SOPs such as the use of face masks, maintaining social distance and ensuring the availability of sanitisers at all venues.

It said thermal screening of all visitors at entrances of mosques, religious gatherings and other worship places should be ensured. The NCOC also called for setting up health desks so that people with symptoms of cough, flu or fever should be kept outside the venue.

The NCOC suggested the authorities allow only "licensed/traditional" processions.
