Pakistan reports less than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases for second straight day

Pakistan has reported 955 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the second straight day the country detected less than 1,000 infections.

The positivity rate, recorded at 2.1 per cent in the last 24 hours, has also remained below 3pc for almost a week.

Pakistan's caseload stands at 1,257,188 while its death toll is 28,087.

The breakdown of the last 24 hours is as follows:

  • Punjab: 472 cases, 13 deaths
  • Sindh: 140 cases, 6 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 226 cases, 9 deaths
  • Balochistan: 29 cases
  • Islamabad: 75 cases, 1 death
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 3 cases
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 10 cases
