2,223 firms registered in September

KARACHI: The Secur­it­i­es and Exchange Commi­ssion of Pakistan (SECP) registered 2,223 new companies in September, up 20 per cent from the same period a year ago.

According to a statement released by the SECP on Friday, the total capitalisation of the new companies stood at Rs2.8 billion. The number of registered companies has risen to 152,089.

Private limited companies accounted for 65pc of the new incorporations whereas single-member companies formed 32pc. Remaining 3pc companies were registered as public unlisted companies, not-for-profit associations, trade organisations and limited liability partnership (LLP).

Approximately 99pc companies were registered online and 210 foreign users were registered from overseas.
