LAHORE, Nov 9: The three-pronged pace attack of Rawalpindi demolished Lahore Shalimar for 138 in the first innings of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League encounter at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday.
Right-armer Yasir Arafat, captured three for 21 as did left-armers Najaf Shah (3-28) and Sohail Tanvir (3-47) after Rawalpindi captain Naveed Qureshi chose to field first.
Lahore Shalimar lost the first six wickets for 49 runs before former Test wicket-keeper Humayun Farhat added some sort of respectability with a robust 40. His 63-ball innings contained three fours and one six.
Rawalpindi, in reply, lost three wickets while making 70 by the close of play.
