LAHORE, Nov 9: The Model Town police have submitted incomplete case of the murder of former minister Dyrick Cyprian in an anti-terrorism court.

The court adjourned the preliminary hearing of the case for Nov 15 when it will also take up the bail application of Adnan Bashir, one of the two co-accused, who had allegedly strangulated Mr Cyprian on Aug 9.

The other accused is Mohammad Ishaq.

The Gulberg police registered a case against investigation officer Inspector Ali Imran Niazi and manager of a Defence branch of a bank Humayun Kabir for hiring Adnan and Ishaq to kill Mr Cyprian to misappropriate Rs13 million which he wanted to encash through a cheque.

He went missing after submitting the cheque on Aug 6. His body was found on Aug 9. Bank manager Humayun, Inspector Niazi and Adnan were arrested while Ishaq, said to be a proclaimed offender in eight cases of murder and dacoity, is still at large.

The Gulberg police charged the accused with murder while the Model Town division added Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act to make it triable by an anti-terrorist court.
