LAHORE: Lahore Capital City Police Officer Ghulam Mahmood Dogar on Saturday suspended from service an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) on flawed investigation and issued directions on the spot for registration of cases on 22 complaints of the citizens.

He took action while holding an open court at the Kahna Police Station on Saturday where he heard 126 applicants.

Mr Dogar asked 10 citizens to bring record of their complaints to his office and referred 37 applicants to the Model Town Division SP for necessary action.

Lahore Operations DIG Sohail Chaudhry, Investigation DIG Shariq Jamal, Model Town (Operations) SP Sayed Aziz, ASP Kahna circle Shoaib Mamon and all the DSPs and SHOs of the division were present.

The complainants were presented before the CCPO in the open court. Most of the complaints were about non-registration of cases and faulty investigation.

The CCPO Lahore issued orders to the police officers concerned for immediate redress of their grievances.

While hearing a case, Mr Dogar got a nominated suspect arrested and sent him behind the bar. The suspect was involved in attempted murder case.

The complainant the suspect had injured also appeared in the open court. After hearing both of them, the CCPO directed the Nishtar Colony police to arrest the suspect on the spot.
