Later, they forced their entry into the house of Haji Yousaf Rajput on the same road. But, they had to flee empty handed when the family raised an alarm and called police which reached there immediately. The robbers opened fire on the police party led by Wazirabad ASP Rana Abdul Jabbar and Ghakkhar SHO Afzal Bhatti when they followed them. Police also returned the fire but the robbers managed to escape in dark.
