KARACHI, Nov 8: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has announced compensation for people who died in the Keti Bunder boat accident, Rs100,000 for every adult and Rs50,000 for each child.

Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, following a visit to earthquake victims hospitalized in different wards of the Civil Hospital, Karachi, the chief minister expressed grief over the incident at Keti Bander which resulted in the loss of 35 lives.

He said that it was human error and not a natural disaster, as the overloaded boat capsized in the sea.

Yet the government, with a view to assisting the bereaved families deprived of their wage- earners and near and dear ones, is providing assistance of Rs100,000 and Rs50,000 to them.—APP
