Seven lives lost to Covid-19

ISLAMABAD: Seven people died after battling with Covid-19 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad districts on Thursday whereas 338 people were diagnosed with the disease. Positivity ratio was recorded at 4.9pc in the capital and 7.2pc in Pindi district. As many as 241 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours.

The deceased were identified as Mehar Bibi, 72, resident of Bahar colony, who arrived at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) on Aug 25; Nadia Nauman, 33, resident of Satellite Town, who arrived at RIU on Aug 28; Mohammad Ishaq, 87, resident of Khyaban-i-Sir Syed who was shifted to RIU on Sept 15; Maryam Bibi, 75, resident of Benazir Colony Wah Cantonment, who was arrived to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Sept 15; Rabia Ghafar, 65, resident of Shakrial, shifted to Pims on Sept 15 and Kalsoom Bibi, 72, resident of Jheeka Gali Murree, who was shifted to Pims on Sept 15.

Officials of the capital administration said death of a female patient was reported in the age group of 60-69. She was a resident of Sohan.

During the last 24 hours 5,135 tests were conducted in the capital out of which 256 came back positive.

A total of 1,139 samples were collected from Rawalpindi district out of which 1,057 were declared Covid-19 free.

There are 1,414 active patients in the district; as many as 161 are in hospitals including 82 patients who arrived from other districts whereas 1,253 are home isolated.

As many as 21 patients arrived from cantonment areas, 25 from city areas, 25 from Potohar Town, one patient arrived from Kallar Syedan, four from Murree, two from Gujar Khan, two from Taxila, one patient each arrived from Chakwal and Narowal.

As many as 176 patients are admitted in city hospitals including 15 in Holy Family Hospital, 58 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 53 in RIU, five in District headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, 23 in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), four in Bilal Hospital, two in Hearts International Hospital and one patient is in Akhter Rukhsana Memorial Welfare Trust Hospital.
