Open katchehry held in Mithi

MITHI: Sindh Minister for Minorities Affairs Gyanchand Essrani has said that Sindh government has allocated Rs1 billion for 60 development projects for minority communities in current financial year.

The minister told media persons after chairing an open katchehry at Circuit House that special budget would also be allocated for talented students of poor families and the needy for medical treatment and other necessities of life.

He said that Sindh government was conducting open katchehries in different districts of the province, which was “proof” of how committed it was to resolve basic issues of public.

Meanwhile, workers and operators of reverse osmosis plants staged a demonstration during the katchehry to register protest against officials of the private firm, which had contract for running the plants, for withholding their salaries and other dues for past eight months.
