Syed, both sides having equal strength of 30 and unwilling to spare a member for election to the Chair. A special session of the Assembly convened for September 5 on special request by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. G.M. Syed, to have a trial of strength with the Ministry was marked by a battle of wits and nerves beginning with the resignation of the Speakership by Syed Miran Mohammad Shah which balanced the Government strength with that of the Opposition.
