MIANWALI, Nov 7: The local Fesco revenue office on Monday issued notices to all tehsil councils of Mianwali to deposit arrears within 10 days otherwise power supply to 118 water supply schemes in respective tehsils would be disconnected.
Assistant manager (revenue) Hasan Ali Mansoor issued a notice that the Mianwali tehsil council was a defaulter of Rs6.61 million for its 60 water supply schemes, the Isakhel council of Rs12.2 million for 55 schemes and the Piplan council of Rs100,709 for three schemes.
He also sent letters to district nazim Haji Obaidullah Khan Shadikhel and DCO Zulfikar Ali Toor to make arrangements for the payment.
It is feared that a great havoc will be created if power connections to all water supply schemes are disconnected. People will have to fetch water from far-off places, and the worst-sufferers will be those living in hilly areas.
Social circles have urged the government to make arrangements for the payment of dues.
