LAHORE: Punjab has reported 1,516 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours – the highest in over three months with 1,700 cases on May 16.
The region also reported 33 coronavirus-related fatalities.
The total number of infections has now increased to 385,258 while the death toll from the disease now stands at 11,666.
During the last 24 hours, 584 people tested positive in Lahore, 229 in Rawalpindi, 119 in Multan, 94 in Faisalabad, 62 in Gujranwala, 57 in Jhang, 56 in Rahim Yar Khan, 37 in Mianwali, 35 in Sialkot, 32 in Bahawalpur, 30 in DG Khan, 22 in Khushab, 21 in Sargodha, and 15 in Khanewal.
Eleven people each tested positive in Muzaffargarh and Sheikhupura, 10 in Okara, eight in Gujrat, seven each in Kasur, Toba Tek Singh and Vehari, six each in Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, Lodhran and Sahiwal, five each in Attock and Layyah, four each in Chiniot, Nankana and Pakpattan, three each in Bhakkar, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, and Narowal.
Seven per cent positivity ratio was recorded in the province, 10.5pc in Lahore, 8.9pc in Rawalpindi, 5.5pc in Multan, 10.2pc in Faisalabad, and 4.8pc in Gujranwala.
