Kiwis warm up in style

BOWRAL (Australia), Jan 23: New Zealand’s cricketers warmed up for this weekend’s double-header against Australia and South Africa with a crushing 249-run win over Australian Country on Wednesday.

New Zealand, currently leading the triangular international series, play Australia and South Africa in Adelaide this weekend.

The New Zealanders went on a run-scoring spree to post 392 for six from their allotted 50 overs before the bowlers dismissed the scratch team of amateur players from rural Australia for just 143.

Opener Brendon McCullum smashed 96 runs off 81 balls while News Zealand captain Stephen Fleming and Dion Nash also blasted half-centuries against their outclassed opposition.
