FAISALABAD, Nov 1: Lyallpur Town Nazim Rana Zahid Mehmood on Tuesday terminated the services of 60 ‘ghost’ employees, including a computer operator and sanitary supervisor, during search of the record and distribution of monthly salary.
The first salary to the sanitary wing employees was distributed by the town nazim to trace the scam of ‘ghost’ employees.
The nazim noticed that 60 workers of the sanitary wing, including supervisor Ghulam Masih and computer operator Muhammad Waseem, had been drawing salaries for the last so many years without doing any job. He terminated the services of all these workers and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Mr Mehmood ordered replacement of all work-charge sanitary workers with energetic jobless youngsters to launch a comprehensive cleanliness operation in both commercial and residential areas of the town.
Talking to the press, Rana Zahid said a transparent system would be introduced to run the financial affairs of the town and no one would be allowed to embezzle a single penny.
A complaint centre would be set up at the Town Complex shortly, he added.
