HYDERABAD, Nov 1: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz and Jeay Sindh Students Federation on Tuesday staged a demonstration in protest against the Thatta district nazim for allegedly disposing of coastal area land to outsiders and sale of forest wood.

They raised slogans against the Sherazi brothers of the district.

JSQM and JSSF leaders, Dr Zulfiqar Panhwar, Sooriah Sindhi and Akbar Soomro, alleged that trees were being felled in the Thatta forest and wood was being openly sold.

They also alleged that tens of thousands of acres of coastal area land was sold to the non-Sindhis.

They said the district administration had also unleashed atrocities against the workers of nationalist parties.

They demanded legal action against the accused.

CARAVAN: The Eid caravan of the Islami Jamiat-i-Tuleba reached the Hyderabad railway station by the Allama Iqbal Express on Monday night en route to Rawalpindi.

IJT Nazim-i-Aala Zubair Ahmed Gondal is leading the caravan.

It was warmly received by the local chapter of the IJT.

The relief goods collected by the IJT Hyderabad, Kotri, Thatta, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Tando Adam, Mirpurkhas and Kunri chapters were handed over to the caravan for distribution among the earthquake victims.

Speaking at the Hyderabad railway station, Mr Gondal said that the entire nation especially students have demonstrated patriotism far exceeding the 1965 war to provide succour to the victims of the massive earthquake.

He said that due to the ill-planning of the rulers, relief goods have not reached the far-flung areas.

He claimed that religious parties were in forefront in providing relief to the earthquake victims.
