KARACHI, Oct 31: Seven ships carrying chemicals and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where eight ships were berthed to unload and load containers and offload fertilizer. They are: Swat to unload crude oil, Chem Leo to unload chemicals, Maersk Alaska, Bunga Delima, and United Prosperity to unload and load containers, Chitral to offload general cargo, Bodar to offload fertilizer and Yang Tze River to offload sugar.

Sailing was also active as a dozen ships departed after loading their cargoes. They are: Sinar Bontang, Corin Thaikos, Sagamore, Conti Esperance, Kota Mesra, Al-Marwah, Global Tiajin, Maersk Alsaka, Darya Shakti, Pearl, Adhidaya and Capetan Lefteris, while Bunga Delima, Nanaking, Swat, United Prosperity, and Iran Yamin are due to depart on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.179m tons comprising 23,751 tons of export cargo and 0.155m tons of import tonnage.

The following vessels are due on Tuesday: Yanaseni and Oriental Kerria, to unload chemicals, Hanjin Busan, APL Jeddah, Kota Tampan, Sea Beta, and Iran Kordestan, with containers.
