Rs160.6m revenue collected

SARGODHA, Jan 23: The Revenue Department has collected Rs160.6 million revenue during the last year in Sargodha district.

This was stated by executive district officer (Revenue) Raja Safdar while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday.

He said Rs70.7 million had been recovered under the revenue head, Rs10.3 million outstanding amount and Rs40.8 million agriculture income tax with a penalty of Rs276,000. He said Rs20.6 million arrears of the ADBP had also been recovered.

Safdar said Rs60.2 million had been recovered from Bhalwal tehsil, Rs40.3 million from Sargodha tehsil, Rs10.6 million from Sahiwal tehsil, Rs20.5 million from Shahpur tehsil and Rs10.8 million from Sillanwali tehsil.

GRANT: A grant of Rs254 million out of Rs400 million had been disbursed for 270 uplift projects under the KPP and ADP during the year 2001.

This was stated by the EDO (finance and planning) at a District Development Committee meeting chaired by the DCO.

The EDO (F&P) said 12 out of 131 schemes were yet to be completed under the KPP. Of them, one scheme related to the rural electrification, six to PHED, two each to the municipal corporation and the cantonment board and one to the Highways Department. These departments had been asked to explain reasons for not completing the schemes within the stipulated period.

The EDO said Rs130 million had been allocated for development schemes under the KPP while Rs27 million under the SAP.

The local District Officer (Building) had submitted 73 SAP schemes to the committee while work on them would be commenced after the approval by the district assembly.

He said out of Rs221 million allocated to 150 projects under the ADP during the current year, Rs80 million had already been spent.
