The Foreign Office (FO) has expressed gratitude to the US after the White House announced that it would be sending three million doses of the Moderna vaccine to Pakistan under Covax — the World Health Organisation's global shared vaccine programme.

The FO has said in a statement: “The Government and the people of Pakistan deeply appreciate the announcement by the White House to ship 3 million doses of Moderna vaccine to Pakistan through Covax. These vaccines will give [a] boost to [the] ongoing vaccination drive in Pakistan."

It has further stated that Pakistan looks forward to continued cooperation from the US in the fight against the pandemic.
